There is something about Greensborough’s Dulce Gelateria that just makes me smile. Perhaps the décor – pink upon pink upon pink. Maybe the highly Instagrammable wall of flowers – pink of course! But the real reason to smile is its superb gelati.
It was a very grey day when Benny and I rocked up to this family-run gelateria. Being enveloped in Dulce’s warm pinkness and the friendly welcome of the server were perfect antidotes for the miserable weather outside.
Everything available at Dulce is made on-site. The gelati (of course) and the gelato cakes, plus a range of toppings to add extra pizzazz to your desserts at home – dulce di leche, salted caramel, blackberry, fig, passionfruit and raspberry. If you are lucky, there may also be brownie bites and alfajors – an Argentinian specialty, biscuits sandwiched with dulce di leche and dipped in chocolate.
Not in the mood for gelato? (As if!!) Dulce’s menu also covers smoothies, milk shakes (dairy or vegan) and iced coffee (also dairy or vegan).
And our four-legged friends are not forgotten. Dulce also produces Dobbys Dog Ice Cream – the flavours are all natural and are dairy free and gluten free.
Dulce’s gelati is available in cones, cups and tubs to take away. The menu has a rotating selection of 26 flavours – including dairy, non-dairy and vegan options – with over 60 flavours in Dulce’s repertoire.
Cooler weather calls for richer flavours. And Dulce’s vegan chocolate sorbetto totally filled the brief. Rich, dark chocolate and awesomely good. Such chocolatey goodness calls for a fruity pairing, and the berry sorbetto was just perfect.
For Benny, two dairy-based flavours – tiramisu and pistachio. Both excellent flavours, beautiful textures, gelato perfection.
As well as its Greensborough retail gelateria, Dulce also does wholesale, events and catering.
Outstanding flavours, generous servings, friendly service. Ticks all of our boxes when it comes to gelato. And did I mention that it was very pink? Definitely a must visit if you are in Greensborough.
